Orange Peel Off Face Mask Review-Everyuth Natural Golden Glow, Lala Peel Powder

Orange Peel Off Face Mask Review-Everyuth Natural Golden Glow, Lala Peel Powder
Who does not like the look, smell, and taste of orange. Orange is the most favored fruit from the citrus family with lots of vitamin C that does a whole lot of good to the body and skin, but think of orange peel as a beauty product. In fact, in my teens, when I had acne-prone skin, I used to dry orange peels under the sun and powder them to a fine consistency to be used along with Fuller’s earth and honey to get a radiant and blemish free skin. I always had an affinity towards orange and papaya, and if any beauty product mentions orange and papaya as its ingredients, I cannot simply let it go. So, this time, orange came before me in a peel-off avatar. I got my hands on it while on a trip to Gujarat. This peel-off mask with orange peel extract is from EverYuth Naturals.
WHAT DOES EVERYUTH NATURALS GOLDEN GLOW PEEL OFF CLAIM:
Dust, pollution, and the environment cause impurities to clog skin pores and make the skin dull. EverYuth Naturals Golden Glow Peel-Off is a home facial with orange peel extracts and glitter particles, which gives you an instant glow and fairness when there is no time for a parlour facial. Its 3-way action works wonders on your skin by peeling away dirt and bacteria from within the skin pores. It stimulates blood circulation and oxygen supply to the skin, and gives an instant fairness with a golden glow.

Everyuth Golden Glow Peel OFF Pack
KEY INGREDIENTS:
Water, alcohol, Polyvinyl alcohol, PEG 1500, propylene glycol, orange peel extract, vitamin A, C, E, and F, Methyl Paraben, Fragrance, Mica and Titanium and Calcium Aluminium Borosilicate, Gellan Gum, Color Sunset, Yellow C.I. No. – 15985, Lactic Acid.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Wash face, pat skin dry. Apply evenly over your face avoiding eyes and mouth (do not apply a very thin layer). Let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Peel off from forehead in a downward direction towards chin and wash off. For best results, use at least once a week.
PRICE:
Rs. 60 for 50 grams.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH EVERYUTH NATURALS GOLDEN GLOW PEEL-OFF:
This medium-sized yellow-orange colored tube consists of gluey sticky gummy bright orange substance that has bright golden glitter particles in it. This glue smells so stinkingly orangish that even orange does not smell so orangish. The abundantly glimmering glitter particles did put me off initially, but I had to give this a try for the sake of the orange peel extract. I washed my face, patted it dry, and applied the orange glue all over face and that too thickly. I also allowed it to air dry. After about 20 minutes, when it was feeling all stretchy, I started to pull it from around the forehead area and then from all over my face. It was then that I realized that it was so much fun. I cared a damn whether I got any glow or whatever after the peel-off, but the peel-off session itself was so much fun. I thought I will never ever complain of getting bored if I had this peel-off tube with me, since it was such a timepass. After I had taken down the peel from my face, there were certain bits and pieces of the peel that got stuck in my hair near the forehead and ears and it was a little bit difficult to remove them. Apparently, there is no need to wash the face after the peel and evidently there was a bright radiance to the face that I could see, not anything remarkable, but nevertheless bright. For the money, I paid for it, it did give me results, but I do not think it washes away bacteria or increases blood circulation.
Everyuth Golden Glow Peel OFF Pack 1 Orange Peel Off Face Mask Review Everyuth Natural Golden Glow, Lala Peel Powder
Everyuth Golden Glow Peel OFF Pack
PROS OF EVERYUTH NATURALS GOLDEN GLOW PEEL-OFF:
  • Ingredient list contains orange peel extract, anyone who has used dried orange peel powder before would know how much wonder it does for the skin.
  • Peeling of the mask is so much fun that whenever I get bored, I just apply this mask, and peel off. Anyone who has played with sticking Fevicol on hands and then peeling it off would realize how much fun it is.
  • Price is very reasonable.
CONS OF EVERYUTH NATURALS GOLDEN GLOW PEEL-OFF:
  • It smells so garishly orange to the extent of being stinky, they should use less of orange perfume in this one.
  • There are so many glitter particles in this glue that it can put anyone completely off the peel.
  • “Peels away bacteria and stimulates circulation” claim is exaggerated.
WILL I BUY IT AGAIN:
Yes of course, it is not heavily priced and it is so much fun to peel this off and since I cannot apply Fevicol all over my face, I will opt for this one on a boring day when I have nothing to do.

  • Mix Orange peel with water to make a thin paste.
  • Apply the pate on the face and neck.
  • Allow the paste to dry thoroughly.
  • Wash the face with cold water.
PRICE: Rs. 20 for 100 gm.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH LALA’S ORANGE PEEL:
Orange peel is an excellent skin cleanser and works wonderfully for oily and problem skin. As I mentioned earlier, I used to dry the peels under sun and powder them, but since now, I do not have much time to do all that, I chose to buy this easily available Lala’s orange peel powder. I use this once a week as a face mask mixing it with honey and sometimes Fuller’s earth and slowly rubbing the paste over my face and then letting it settle down as a mask. It works wonderfully as a cleanser and I feel refreshed after every use, but then it leaves the skin a little bit dry and using a moisturizer is imperative, but overall, worth the money and stands true on whatever little bit it claims.
PROS OF LALA’S ORANGE PEEL EXTRACT:
  • Works as a cleanser and toner leaving the skin taut.
  • Gives a refreshing feel to the skin.
  • Cheaply priced.
CONS OF LALA’S ORANGE PEEL EXTRACT:
  • There is no ingredient list mentioned, which means it might only contain orange peel and nothing else, but then how does it sustain for 3 years without any preservative.
  • Skin feels a little dry after its use and moisturizing should not be skipped.
WILL I BUY IT AGAIN:
Yes and I have been using it on a regular basis for years now.

Health Benefits of Tea

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but what if you can not find an apple? Simple drink tea. Mmm.. not so apt one. Anyway what I was trying to tell was that drinking tea is not that bad as it is thought to be.

Organic foods and Their Benefits

Why choosing organic can benefit you
The term organic food refers to naturally produced produce that eliminates the use of growth hormones, antibiotics, bioengineering and pesticides. Organic farmers use methods that use natural soil and support farming methods that encourage water conservation in order to reduce pollution produced by destructive fertilisers and pesticides.
Going organic reduces your carbon footprint as you are encouraging and supporting farms that choose not to use harmful pesticides that are detrimental to health and the environment. Insects and other pests often develop a resilience against the pesticides resulting in farmers using pesticides with even higher toxicity levels. On the other hand, organic farmers assist produce in developing their own resilience towards any pest.
organic harvest ideas for summer Organic foods and Their Benefits

When we buy our fruit and veg from non organic locations it is quite noticeable that they are perfectly shaped and occur in bright colours, they look healthy, but don’t be fooled. Non organic farmers further use pesticides to increase their produce growth rates as well as to grow them looking at their best despite the season and the negative health affects. Naturally grown food will appear smaller, less shapely and not always as brightly coloured, but rest assure, I can grantee they taste a hole lot better. Looking at personal experience, ever since I tasted my first organically grown apple, the rest just aren’t satisfying enough. Most importantly organically grown also mean more nutritious.
When choosing organic you know your food will be fresh. as naturally grown fruit and veg will not last as long as their genetically modified counterparts. Eating fresh food (the sooner they are consumed after picking the better) further guarantees that you will getting the most out of what you eat. Often, exposure to oxygen, heat, light and cooking reduces the amount of nutrients available in the food. Also when purchasing, make sure the organic labels are legitimate by checking the labels to ensure they are certified organic. Countless research has proven that in general, organic food has higher amounts of vitamins, minerals and even antioxidants (which help your body fight against cancer and the signs of of aging).

Choosing to buy organic meat and seafood is also a slightly less acquirable option. It involves livestock being fed organic feed, as well as the fact they are not kept in unbelievably small enclosures and they are not forced to observe other livestock being slaughtered. Having a grantee that the animal you eat has lived a happy healthy organic and stress free life with minimal disease exposure, also grantees you will be receiving the maximum nutrient benefits you can get from that source.
To further receive the benefits of going organic, choosing organically certified skin care products are also highly beneficial. Often, non-organic products just as in non-organic foods have harmful toxins that are absorbed by our skin and detrimental to our health. Our skin already absorbs a high amount of pollutants that are present in our current pollution filled atmosphere and we should be trying to prevent this, not encourage it.
Looking at this on whole, the only reason we as humans ingest food is because we need energy and nutrients to carry out out all metabolic activity in our bodies which are imperative to life. Without this we would not be alive. So is it not reasonable to say that we should be consuming the best possible foods available to us? Of course not, it may be more expensive, but it’s worth it in the long run as living life to the fullest is only achievable when we are as happy and healthy as possible. If cost is an issue and you honestly want to go organic, another option may be to purchase a few organic foods such as the produce that is usually the most contaminated. A list of the most contaminated foods include; celery, spinach, strawberries, apples, peaches, lettuce, capsicum, cherries, potatoes, grapes and nectarines. A list of non-organic food that are the least harmful include; avocados, corn, broccoli, asparagus, frozen sweet peas, onions and frozen corn. Another option may be to remove the skin or outer part of the fruit or veg , however this does not always have much of an effect as pesticides often leach into and past the the skin. Furthermore when removing the skin you are also removing the area with the most concentrated amount of nutrients. As many fruit and vegetables are seasonal it is also a good idea to consume them at their peak season to gain the maximum benefits they can provide. Purchasing non organic food in their peak season, means they most likely have less toxins than they would in their off season, as they are growing in their peak environment.
Around the world people are becoming more aware of the benefits of choosing organic and India is fast becoming a great source. So choose organic and rid your body of harmful chemicals that build up in your system and result in negative health issues rather than positive ones.

Skin Benefits of Yogurt

Yogurt For Skin

yogurt Skin Benefits of Yogurt
Summers are here and I don’t know about you but I love having yogurt in summers, especially with a little bit of sugar. And now with the frozen yogurt coming up in the market, they are giving us a healthy alternative for desserts. I always make it a point to grab a cup of frozen yogurt whenever I am out. Yogurt gives a cooling effect to the body, so why not skin ? I have been using plain yogurt on my skin almost every day for a month now and I have seen pretty nice changes in my skin .So I thought it was time to share my experiences with you people
Yogurt contains zinc, calcium, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, protein and yeast
• Zinc is said to have anti-inflammatory benefits which can help reduce acne. It is like a mild astringent
• Calcium has antioxidant properties, it helps in cell renewal. It can help make your skin ‘glow’. Whereas deficiency in calcium can lead to premature aging, dryness and even itching
• Vitamin B’s are capable of preventing acne and enhancing the blood circulation
• Protein is an important ingredient for our entire body .if your body is rich in proteins ,your skin will automatically look soft, supple and radiant

How to use the yogurt for skin

Just take the plain fresh home-made yogurt and apply it on the skin and leave it for 10minutes ,after that wash it off with cold water and apply a good moisturizer .I advise doing it at night before sleeping because I found it more effective. You can use yogurt with honey if you have dry skin, my mom has used it and it has helped her with her fine lines
Lack of water in my everyday routine had made my skin dehydrated and it had lost its glow, I looked tired all the time, so when I came home this yogurt mask was the first thing my mom suggested. It also helped me with my tanning .As the summers approach every year, I get so scared of stepping outside because I am scared of tanning, no matter how good sunscreen I use, I will definitely get some tanning on my skin. The yogurt mask was able to remove all the tanning out of my face and even faded some of the blemishes. I went for a family gathering a few days ago, and all my relatives were coming up to me and asking me what did I do with my skin, one of my cousins was so sure that I got a treatment done from saloon. And that’s when I knew yogurt had done its work for me:Dfrozen+yogurt Skin Benefits of Yogurt• It will make the skin hydrated
• Fades away the blemishes to a great extent
• Lightens the skin tone
• Helps with acne
• My skin has started looking very healthy and fresh

• None, except don’t use it if you have allergy from dairy products
I’m going to recommend it to everyone with all kinds of skin, do try it once and tell me if it worked for you or not.

Aloe Vera: Beauty Benefits

Aloe Vera: Beauty Benefits

I have been regularly posting home remedies for all you beautiful ladies, and if you all have noticed, aloe vera is somewhere or the other present in each and every home remedy post of mine.
Aloe Vera is a multipurpose plant, anyways. So I decided to do a separate post which would pin-point the beauty benefits of aloe vera for all you beautiful ladies.
The aloe vera plant is like a magical plant for women, trust me on this. It works wonders for us from the toe to the head.
As we all know there are many many products available in the markets which have aloe vera content in them, not just creams and lotions but many of the cosmetics contain aloe vera too, since it is natural, safe and non allergic (to any skin type).
Eyes: Aloe vera reduces the puffiness of the eyes. So if you wake up to puffy eyes, run to the garden and get some aloe vera on your eyes, or simply have handy aloe vera gel and massage your eyes with it. Aloe vera is one of the most important contents in most of the eye products, including the many of the eyeshadows.
Here’s a most effective way for using Aloe vera for your eyes- irritations and itch at the eyes (not in your eyes):
Take aloe vera gel and mix it with boric acid, mix them together. Filter the gel with a tea stainer or coffee filter and apply on eyes.aloe vera benefits Aloe Vera: Beauty BenefitsFor irritation with in the eye, just put a freshly cut aloe vera pod on your eye, this will reduce the irritation and redness of the eye.
You can apply aloe vera gel on red blotches which are bound to happen when you get your eyebrows plucked, same is the case with the facial hair.
Lips: Aloe vera is rich in vitamin E (and you know how much we love our vitamin E rich lipsticks and lip glosses), hence it works wonders for the lips. Aloe vera is used for treating chapped lips or even dry lips and why wouldn’t it treat dry and chapped lips after all aloe vera is water plant. Mix aloe vera with olive oil for a great great lip balm substitute.
Skin: If have been mentioning this over and over again, in all my skin related home remedies, that aloe vera is Holy Grail for the skin, trust me. It’s the best moisturizer, undoubtedly. Be it the winter itch or the scorching summers, aloe vera is always the best skin remedy. Aloe vera has non-inflammatory properties hence it is used by most of the cold creams and moisturizers.
Here’s how you use it on your skin:If you have skin burns, acne, cuts, scars and blisters simply cut a fresh aloe vera pod from your garden and squeeze out the gel from the pod, you can also use a spoon for doing this, and apply the gel directly on the affected area. You can combine this gel with wheat grem oil or any essential oil for that purpose.
Aloe vera basically has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties so it helps in curing burns and insect bites very decently. Not just this, it helps in reducing skin marks, blemishes and also aging skin and skin spots.
Dilute aloe vera gel with water and apply the mixture on your vicious pimples and acne before going to bed. The acne are bound to disappear within few days (this one is tried and tested by me). The juice of aloe vera also cures spots and skin freckles.
Aloe vera works as a skin brightener too, it helps in getting rid of pigmentation. It’s a great facial cleanser and the best skin nourisher since its rich I 18 amino acids, vitamins of different kinds and minerals too.
Make your own aloe vera scrubs by mixing sugar, aloe vera gel and lemon juice or sea salt (khada namak), aloe vera gel, baby oil and honey.
It’s a lso a great astringent and helps in tightening the pores.  Aloe vera gel is also used for curing stretch marks.
Hair: Aloe vera wonderfully works for your hair too. It scrubs of your dandruff, and afflictions like psoriasis and seborrhea. It also helps in reducing hairfall. For the men, you can substitute aloe vera gel, for your styling gel too.
Massage the aloe vera pod into your scalp, you can also remove the gel with a spoon and then massage it in, this gives the scalp nutrients and thus augments healthy hair and hair growth.
Teeth and the mouth: Aloe vera also has the powers to cure your periodontal afflictions. Bleeding teeth or gums, inflammation, tooth ache and decay can be combated with aloe vera.
Pains and strains: Since aloe vera readily soaks into the skin, you can use aloe vera for treating skin strains and sprains too. Use a cold compress with some aloe vera gel on the affected area for 2-3 times a day.
Internal healing benefits: Aloe vera gel also helps you in getting rid of stomach disorders, headaches and kidney afflictions. The yellow juice like gel which is found just below the leave’s skin is a great laxative. It also helps in combating, allergies and sinus.
In a nutshell all I wanna say is that the aloe vera is a bliss bliss plant, so get it rooted in your gardens ASAP, or get aloe gel from your nearest ayurvedic stores.

Water : Health & Beauty Benefits

Water – Health and Beauty

When you are really really thirsty and you get everything else to drink other than water – will you be ok with it? According to me nothing can replace water even if it my favourite drink or even the drink had almost 80% water in it !!!!!! When I need water nothing can quench my thirst better than water and I guess most of us will agree on it. But do we drink water only when we feel thirsty – if yes then here I’ll list you more health and beauty reasons on why to drink water as much as you can. You could also have heard many celebrities declaring their beauty secrets, one among which would be – Drink heaps of water. Without delaying any further here is the most essential article for this summer – “Water for Health and Beauty”.

Water being available almost everywhere around us gets neglected by most of us, but there are certain things which only water can provide.
  • Drinking 8 glasses of water everyday can reduce the risk of colon cancer by 45%, bladder cancer by 50% and even the risk of breast cancer!!!!
  • Drinking heaps of water prevents the formation of stones in kidney.
  • Drinking water frequently helps clean the bladder and thus maintain the system without any major trouble.
  • Drinking heaps of water helps in maintaining the elasticity of the skin thus helps one to look young and fresh always.
  • Water can cure all kidney related problem if diagnosed in the early stages.
  • Regular water consumption prevents urinary infection.
  • Regular water intake has known to reduce all major skin problems including acne and even blemishes caused due to acne.
  • Drinking heaps of water is known to hydrate the system well thus giving glow and shine to the skin.
  • Shampoos and conditioners are not the only reason for a good healthy hair but also the water we use !! The more polluted the water, the lesser is the effect. Still many of my friends in Kerala use plain water to clean their hair and I have seen them having no hair problems at all !!!! In fact their hair is much longer and thicker and trouble free. All they use for their hair are Coconut Oil and water. Initially I never believed them but later I had to accept the truth.
  • Water intake in any form helps in good health [like coffee, tea and other drinks] but taking drinking water directly in heaps as such has proven to help us better.
A small test to see the effects of water – Drink 2-3 litres of water (minimum) everyday for 3 months and you can see visible results both health wise and also you can see your skin glowing without any problems !!!
Interesting Note – Water is the only product that can be consumed without any restrictions. Have you ever heard anyone say don’t drink excess water? The word ‘excess’ does not hold good when it comes to water, the more you take the more you are benefited.

Even though saturated fats should be avoided, the saturated fats present are in coconut oil are not harmful. It does not lead to adding LDL (Low-density lipoprotein) levels. Coconut oils work in favour of your heart by reducing high cholesterol and high BP.
Depending on whether coconut oil is taken internally or externally, benefits of coconut oil are in hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength.

These benefits of coconut oil are because of its components which include lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid. Incredibly, lauric acid is the same compound that can be found in breast milk. And we all know that breast milk is packed with nutrients and disease-fighting ingredients that help keep babies healthy. So in a way, coconut oil is to adults, what breast milk is to babies.

Benefits of Coconut oil –
There is science to suggest that Virgin coconut oil has the ability to help stimulate your metabolism. Virgin coconut oil is not hydrogenated and has no cholesterol. Thus coconut oil is preferred by athletes and body builders and by those who are on strict diet. The reason behind this is that coconut oil has lesser calories compared to other oils. In fact, its fat content is converted into energy and it also does not lead to accumulation of fat in heart and arteries. Coconut oil finally, helps you intensify energy levels and endurance.
Apart from helping your heart, coconuts also help in supporting your immune system, proper functioning of your thyroid gland and providing you with instant energy source.

Health and Beauty Benefits of Orange

I have always liked fruits over vegetables and orange is one of my favourite fruit. My mother had to come up with a different trick everyday to see me finish my vegetables. Feeling so bad for her now.

hough, I am very well aware of the importance of a balance diet or say vegetables yet, I have not accepted them completely. I still have to toil very hard to finish my quota of vegetables everyday. But, as far as fruits are concerned I eat them as if I’ll be dead next day.
Well enough about my stinking habit. Now, let us focus on oranges. I love them not only for their tangy taste but also for the various health and beauty benefits. Some of which are listed below.

• Due to its alkaline effect on our digestive system, orange helps to stimulate the digestive juices and thus gets rid of constipation.
• It also reduces the risk of heart diseases due to the presence of flavonoids in it.
• Formation of calcium oxalate stones in the kidney can also be prevented by drinking a glass of orange juice daily.
• Daily intake of orange juice may help lower both cholesterol levels and blood pressure levels.
• Risk of peptic ulcers can be reduced by consuming a vitamin C rich food like orange.
• The high antioxidant content in orange helps to prevent various forms of cancer, including breast cancer and prostate cancer.
• To bleach your skin naturally, mix orange peel powder and milk to make a thick paste. Apply it on face and leave it for few minutes. Wash your face with cold water.
• Take 2-3 tbsp of orange juice. Apply it on your face like a face wash. Avoid rubbing for long. Rinse your face with normal water. Vitamin C in the orange juice will add instant softness to your skin.

A global Nielsen consumer report on personal grooming, and the use of health and beauty products and treatments

A global Nielsen consumer report on personalgrooming, and the use of health and beautyproducts and treatments

In a society seemingly obsessed with beautiful people and
celebrity, where unrealistically thin models strut catwalks and
airbrushed photographic images adorn billboards and
magazine covers, over two thirds of consumers the world over
agree the pressure to look good is much greater that it was in
our parents’ day. But that doesn’t mean consumers are
prepared to spend more to enhance their appearance, or go
out of their way to look stylish all the time, according to a
recent Nielsen survey.
The Nielsen Company surveyed 25,408 internet users in 46
markets from Europe, Asia Pacific, North America and the
Middle East about their purchase of health and beauty
products, where they bought them, what influenced their
purchase, and whether mass market produced hair, skin and
cosmetic products were just as good as premium expensive
alternatives. Nielsen also asked consumers about their
personal grooming habits, whether they felt pressured to
look good, what and how often they invested in beauty
treatments, and what they would spend, and on what,
if money were no object.
A global Nielsen consumer report on personal
grooming, and the use of health and beauty
products and treatments
Nearly four in five (79%) of the world’s internet consumers
claim to purchase health and beauty products, led by 93
percent of the Spanish. At the other end of the scale,
however, three of the four Nordic countries topped the
rankings for those that claim not to buy any health and
beauty products, lead by 43 percent of Norwegians, 41
percent of Swedes and 40 percent of Danes.

Th e Nielsen survey found that globally, nearly three quarters
of consumers agree the pressure to look good today is
greater than it was in our parents’ day, lead by over four in
fi ve Vietnamese (88%), French and Portuguese (85%). Th e
pressure was particularly felt by more than three quarters
of respondents in their late teens and early twenties.
And while the pressure is being universally felt, over two
thirds of respondents claimed not to spend much more than
they used to on beauty products and treatments, lead by four
in fi ve Finns, Canadians and Hungarians.
Teens and those in their 20s claimed to spend more than they
used to on beauty products and treatments, while at the other
end of the scale, the older you get, it seems, the less you spend.
Th e Nielsen survey found that the older the respondent, the
less interested they were in spending on products and
treatments to enhance their appearance, or delay the
ageing process.

Twenty-somethings, Brazilians,Portuguese and Greeks the mostdedicated to style

While three quarters of consumers felt under pressure to look
good, less than half said they tried to look stylish at all times.
Women were evenly split on the topic, while 58 percent of
those in the 21 – 24 age group were most likely to maintain
their own standards of style. The older the respondent, the
less inclined they were to try and look stylish all the time.

Around the world, 87 percent of Brazilians claimed to try to
look stylish at all times, followed by the Portuguese (79%)
and Greeks (76%). At the other end of the style scale, four
in five people in Hong Kong said they didn’t try to look
stylish at all times.

Th e Nielsen survey found that people invest in personal
grooming for many reasons, but mostly they do it for their
own sense of well-being. Th is was particularly the case for
73 percent of women and for people aged 21 - 29.

Th ree in fi ve consumers said they invested in personal
grooming to feel better about themselves, while just half said
they did it to look good for their partner, and only two in fi ve
said they did it to attract one! 18 – 34 year olds were most
likely to look good for the sake of their partners, with such
an inclination tailing off the older the respondent! And three
in fi ve 15 – 24 year olds work hard at looking good in the hope
it will help them attract a partner. Over the age of 40, just
under one third try to look good to attract a partner.

Th e Brazilians and Portuguese make most eff ort to look stylish
at all times because it makes them feel better about themselves
(89% and 85% respectively)…while the Vietnamese (81%) and
Indonesians (78%) do it for their partners, and the Greeks are
doing it either for their partner (80%) …or in the hope of
fi nding a new one in the process (73%)!

In the Nielsen survey, more than four in fi ve consumers agreed
that, today, men are more interested in personal grooming than
they used to be. Th is was particularly felt by 94 percent of
respondents in Greece, Portugal and South Africa.
Metrosexuals who spend time and money on looking good
were perfectly ok for close to four in fi ve consumers globally,
getting the big thumbs up from New Zealanders (92%), Danes
and South Africans (91%), Chinese and French (90%).
One third of 15 – 17 year olds disagreed, however!

To maintain or enhance their looks, two thirds of the world’s
consumers focus on taking care of their hair - in conjunction
with a daily skincare regime and regular facial treatment –
and if money were no object, they would continue to care
for their hair, but would spend more on body massages and
teeth-whitening.
According to the world’s consumers, having a bad hair day
is simply not an option when it comes to looking ones best.
Sixty-four percent of consumers invest in daily, weekly or
monthly hair care, compared to just over half (53%) of
those who follow a similar skincare regime. When broken
down by gender, however, nearly three quarters of women
considered a regular skin care regime to be as important as
regular hair care when it comes to looking well-groomed

Ever-Evolving Health and Beauty

Ever-Evolving Health and Beauty

The last professional massage I received was 12 years ago, and it was a disaster. A deep tissue treatment recommended by my high school rowing coach was an hour-long pressure point torture fest; from then on I avoided massage tables as if they were dentist chairs. But recently I jumped back on that table, and masseuse Adrienne Leach, who works with the revamped and reopened Evolutions Medical & Day Spa, repaired my broken faith and demonstrated why it’s one of the top pampering games in town.
Evolutions, having outgrown its home near the Arlington Theatre, moved into a commercial condo suite at 350 Chapala Street last October. And while longtime cosmetic surgeon Dr. Terry Perkins and his personally trained staff of aesthetic specialists still offer the noninvasive medical procedures that consistently win The Santa Barbara Independent‘s Best Of poll— like treatments for wrinkles, hair loss, skin problems like acne or rosacea, and vein and tattoo removal — Evolutions recently expanded to include a full menu of day spa services.
To do that, Evolutions knocked down a wall separating its medical wing from the former space of Avia Spa, which closed last August after its then-owners — Troy Medore and Spencer Cooper — are said by its former employees to have run the business into the ground with blatant and possibly criminal mismanagement. Building owner Suzanne Seed — who founded the much-respected Avia Spa more than eight years ago before she sold it to Medore and Cooper — has now leased the space to Evolutions.
Save for a few updates, the interior space has changed little since Evolutions took over, explained managing partner Brian Perkins, Terry Perkins’s son. He pointed to the four free-standing massage huts in the big open room, the Japanese bamboo motif, and the decked-out locker rooms with dry eucalyptus saunas. Clients have their options when choosing how and where to indulge their bodies: on offer are facials, exfoliation treatments, chemical peels, scrubs and wraps, and nearly every type of massage under the sun.
Perkins said that Evolutions has also hired 11 former Avia staffers, including Leach, and is accepting formerly worthless Avia gift cards for up to half of the cost of any of Evolutions products or services. He estimated there’s around $375,000 worth of unused credit on an untold number of Avia Spa gift cards floating around town.
Before walking through the dimly lit day spa side of the 6,000-square-foot space — with its cozy tea lounge and the omnipresent sound of trickling water and soft Eastern-style music — Perkins took us around Evolutions’ medical arm, which is expected to see 20-25 clients a day. He talked about how the business has invested over a million dollars in top-of-the-line equipment that can treat any kind of skin and hair type, mentioning how fractional CO2 skin resurfacing treatments uses a grid pattern of small laser pulses to get rid of acne scarring and improve laxity and pigmentation. He explained why injectables (e.g., Botox and Disport) and dermal fillers (Restylane, Perlane, and Radiesse) remain some of the most popular treatments for people concerned about looking tired or aged.
Now that Evolutions has settled in, it’s become a flagship of sorts for a health-conscious corner of town that includes Yoga Soup, Backyard Bowls, Crimson Day Spa, Alchemy Arts, and the Juice Ranch. “You now have one-stop shopping for the majority of your wellness and beauty needs,” summed up Perkins of the lower Chapala Street neighborhood.

Live a Beautiful, Healthier Lifestyle

The beauty of a woman and her health go hand in hand. Beauty lies in a variety of things including looks, body, style, energy and so forth. A woman’s radiance and attractiveness also depends on her fitness levels. To live a healthier life you will have to take diet, exercise, yoga, meditation, jogging as considerations to a happier, healthier lifestyle.

Diet:

  • Eating at regular intervals is crucial. Try eating within an 8-hour time frame, read “The Eight Hour Diet” by David Zinczenko, where you are guaranteed to lose 20 -60 lbs or more and still eat that muffin with your coffee or a side of mac n’ cheese for dinner.
  • Vegetables, fruits, egg, milk, fish, meat, nuts are healthy for your body. Try to avoid consuming sugar and fat containing food. Vegetables which have carbohydrates in them like potatoes have high levels of fat.
  • Drinking plenty of water and avoid drinking alcoholic beverages – instead limit your consumption to 2-3 drinks at most per week.
Exercise:

  • Exercising increases your energy levels and gives you a good physic day by day. From Pilates, Yoga to intelligent fitness like Pure Barre method and so on, these workouts make your body fit and it works on each part of your body. To make your bones fit, muscles look good and to maintain better structure, you can try out different exercises.
  • Meditation will make you tension free, and clear out your mind. It develops your personality as well as your thinking capability. It makes you to think positively and optimistically.
  •  Morning yoga will give you strength. Jogging helps you in maintaining your body weight. Try to avoid acquiring belly fat by walking after every meal.
Appearance:

  • Skin  problems like pimples, warts, wrinkles, dark circles etc. can be cured by drinking plenty water, juices, eating fruits, having good sleep and applying cosmetics that are  fit for your skin type. Don’t try all kinds of creams which may cause infection due to chemicals used. Stick to certain products with organic, pure ingredients.  An aged woman can suffer from wrinkles, which can be due to less water content in body and/or loss of calories. Avoid taking pills unnecessarily, try to opt for natural vitamins and supplements unless directed by your physician.

A healthy diet is one which calories and daily nutrition are offset by eachother. By focusing on eating a variety of food and avoid eating high sugars you can be well on your way to a healthier, more positive you!

Healthy Lifestyle Tips for Growing Kids

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important. Starting early can prevent health issues later in life when our body and energy weakens. For our youth, it is important that our growing children learn and understand tips to develop consistent patterns in food, exercise, sleep & their overall environment.

Food

We all enjoy “junk food” once in a while but allowing our children to eat whatever they want, when they want it, is not safe or healthy for them and their future. Therefore, maintaining a diet within your family that includes a mixture of fruits & vegetables will go a long way in making everyone’s bones and heart stronger, no matter what age. According to WebMD there are simple ways to “reduce fat intake in your child’s diet and promote healthy weight by serving your child low-fat or nonfat dairy products, poultry without skin, lean cuts of meats. whole grain breads and cereals. Also, reduce the amount of sugar sweetened drinks and salt in your child’s diet.”Ideas to Maintaining A Healthy Diet for Your Child• Make room for healthy snacks around the house such as purchasing celery, apples, fresh strawberries, carrots in a way where they are inviting and tasteful to children is important. By eliminating unhealthy high sugar sweets and treats packed with carbs, your child will learn to enjoy fresh organic fruit and veggies and it will become second nature to their taste buds.• Make fun healthy treats with you children. Making treats can vary, this may be some homemade trail mix, fruit bars or even an acai bowl. Read up on recipes from our website or even Pinterest. Choose a special recipe once a week or so that is low in sugar or even vegan or gluten free. Then, take your kids to the grocery store with you and have them help you find the ingredients. Familiarize them with nutrition facts and let them ask you questions to help educate them in the process. Make the meal or treat together so your child can see the outcome.

Lots of Water!

As an adult it is important to keep the body hydrated by drinking plenty of water and staying away from alluring caffeine and energy drinks. Try to sway away from juices that contain high fructose corn syrup or added sugars by serving 100% juice, according to Parenting.com “Kids ages 1 to 6 years can have four to six ounces a day. Too much (sugar) adds a lot of calories and not as much fiber as a piece of fruit, says Dr. Stettler.” Instead make fresh fruit juices or smoothies, they’ll be tasty and healthier too! You can even make an improved version of your kid’s favorite food item – homemade is always better and you can look for recipes online.
Exercise

After dinner go to your local park or run errands at the store to walk around. See to it that your kid exercises his/her body one way or another so that playing video games or viewing apps on the iPad isn’t a tool for keeping busy.
For many adults, spending hours in front of the television or computer screen and then trying to work in a balanced meal, just isn’t enough to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The same goes for kids too. Spending the majority of their day in school, it is important to enroll your children in extracurricular activities, take them on family walks or do in door exercising like video exercises.
Sleep

Everyone loves an adequate amount if sleep. A good diet and plenty of exercise with few hours of sleep will only tire your children. For a kid in his/her growing years, an uninterrupted sleep of about 8 hours (at a stretch) is important. Read to your children before bedtime, help them relax by unwinding from the day.

Can A Good Diet Help Combat Acne?

Can A Good Diet Help Combat Acne?

How your diet impacts the appearance of your skin and acne is a hotly debated issue. Misinformation can make it difficult to decide what’s myth and what’s fact.
The Myth: Chocolate vs. Acne

Some studies done in the 1960s and 1970s claimed not to show a link between chocolate consumption and acne. However these studies themselves weren’t very reliable. The studies essentially involved giving one set of people who had acne a chocolate bar, and another set of people something which looked like a chocolate bar. The results were noted after around a month and no difference between the groups were found. However the non chocolate bar still contained fats and sugars, so the study doesn’t actually say much about the impact of a good diet on acne or bad skin.
Unfortunately people used this study to make the claim that chocolate and a poor diet doesn’t cause acne or make it worse. Today if you ask someone if acne can be caused by a poor diet they’d probably say “no”. But there currently isn’t any evidence to say that this is true.

Can A Poor Diet Worsen Acne?

There is actually theoretical evidence to suggest that a poor diet can make acne worse. A higher sugar diet can increase the amount of blood sugar in the body. This can go on to cause the body to produce too much insulin which then results in more testosterone. These extra hormones are responsible acne, so a poor diet can indirectly cause acne, or make an outbreak worse.

Can A Good Diet Help Acne?

Giving your body all of the right foods will help too. This makes sense. You’re giving your body the things it needs to properly repair your skin, and fight the infection. It’s all about putting your body in a state where it can best recover.

Some have established reasoning behind “a bad diet doesn’t make acne worse.” But is the reverse true? Can a good diet help acne? There is some proof to suggest that higher levels of antioxidant intake are correlated with clearer skin. Inflammation is a potential cause of acne as it creates conditions in which the bacteria can easily multiply. Antioxidants can help reduce this inflammation. We all know that drinking lots of waterand staying well hydrated is part of a balanced diet. If our skin becomes dehydrated and our dead skin cells dry out than it is more likely to  block our pores. Blocked pores are another big cause of acne.
Overall it’s still hard to say one way or another if a poor diet can definitely cause acne. But eating a balanced diet should be something you’re doing anyway. It obviously won’t make your acne worse and could make it better. So surely it’s worth doing! Remember that getting rid of bad skin & acne isn’t just about one miracle treatment, but your whole skin-care routine.
